We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in performing specialist hardware and software testing of Micro Nav systems, supporting both internal and customer on-site projects. The ideal candidate will also provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced team members, helping to improve their working knowledge of Micro Nav systems and associated testing techniques.
Lead and be responsible for complex testing for internal and customer-related projects
Contribute to software engineering and testing procedures
Act as a focal point for Micro Nav departments and other engineering leaders
Mentor junior Testing team members
Influence others to achieve professional advancement
Manage complexity and change in the testing domain
Develop and implement new testing approaches and best practices
Lead customer-facing projects and represent Micro Nav during acceptance testing
Proactively seek improvements within the Testing organisation
Ensure accurate stock control management in cooperation with the Finance Team
Travel to customer sites worldwide as required
An experienced QA professional with a full working knowledge of Micro Nav software and hardware offerings
Expert in testing complex Windows and web-based applications, including third-party integrations
Proficient in best practice software testing techniques (TDD/BDD, UAT, Functional, Non-functional, Performance, Security, Regression, System, and Integration testing)
Experienced in use of test automation tools and test tracking tools such as Jira and Xray
Knowledgeable about version control software and the Windows family of operating systems
Strong communicator, able to effectively interact with customers, integration partners, senior management, team members, and other department representatives
Skilled mentor, capable of leading and guiding junior staff members
Degree qualified or equivalent in computing or a related discipline
5+ years of relevant experience
ISTQB Foundation Level certification
Extensive knowledge of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience with test automation tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard
Ability to work efficiently from home with adequate hardware and Internet connectivity
Experience in an Air Traffic Control (ATC) environment would be beneficial but is not essential
